Super Eagles Grounded by Argentina

Nigeria got their 2010 World Cup campaign off to a losing start with a poor defensive performance against Argentina in Johannesburg. Nigeria had their chances, mainly on the left side as-Argentine right-back Jonas Gutierrez was exposed on a couple of plays, but Chinedu Obasi was unable to find the goal due to poor shooting.
Argentine forward Lionel Messi, who was the engine leading the attack on the Nigerian defense, he entertained the crowd by creating opportunities for his team-mates and on many occasions terrorized Super Eagles keeper Vincent Enyeama, who was in great form all match long. Defender Heinze delivered the crushing blow with a sensational diving header to Juan Sebastian Veron corner kick.
Nigeria players created other chances only to watch them waste in the second half, both Taye Tawio and Kalu Uche had close attempts on goal.
There is still a chance for Nigeria to qualify out of group b by playing to win their remaining matches against Greece and South Korea.
